In order to qualify for financial aid programs at CCSF, you must meet basic eligibility criteria. Please note, certain financial aid programs may have additional eligibility criteria, such as financial need and minimum enrolled units.
Basic Eligibility Criteria
- You must meet the citizenship requirement
- FAFSA Applicants: Must be a U.S. Citizen, , or T-Visa Holder
- Dream Act Applicants: Must be an Undocumented Individual, DACA Recipient, or TPS Recipient who is AB 540/AB 2000/SB 68 eligible or a U-Visa Holder
- You must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a financial aid eligible program at CCSF
- You must have a High School Diploma or one of the following equivalents:
- General Educational Development (GED) Certificate
- Certificate of Proficiency from California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE)
- High School Equivalency Credential (HSE) from High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)
- High School Equivalency Credential (HSE) from Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC)
- Associates in Arts (AA)/Associates in Science (AS) Degree
- Completion of 60-semester credits applicable towards a Bachelors in Arts (BA)/ Bachelors in Science (BS) Degree
- Passing an independently administered, approved Ability-to-Benefit Test (only if you were enrolled prior to July 1, 2012)
- Completing 6 credit hours or 225 clock hours of postsecondary education (only if you were enrolled prior to July 1, 2012)
- You must register or have registered with between the ages of 18-25 if you are male
- You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at CCSF
- You must not be in default on a federal student loan or owe an overpayment on a federal grant
Staying Eligible
Under basic financial aid eligibility criteria, students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and remain enrolled in a financial aid eligible program in order to receive financial aid funds. However, cases may arise in which the following occur:
- A student fails to maintain SAP
- A student withdraws from 91风月楼
