An intensive study of 300 commonly used characters, including detailed analysis of their radicals and salient structural components. This course is also designed to enhance Cantonese speakers' skills in reading and writing Chinese and cultural awareness of characters in Cantonese-speaking regions.

Examination of issues of sustainability in the hospitality industry. By looking through the lenses of environmental, social, and economic sustainability, students will gain an understanding of how business and personal decisions can impact the environment, their communities, and their establishments. Through lectures, readings, discussions, case studies, and their own research, students will learn how to make informed decisions that promote sustainability in their business.
Skills needed to serve as a technician in the biotechnology and biomanufacturing industries. Students grow and monitor bacterial and yeast cultures that produce recombinant proteins, emulating the large-scale production used in industry. Cleaning, sterilization, aseptic inoculation, operation, and monitoring of fermenters and bioreactors. Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) will be emphasized.
Work experience for students in the Biotechnology Program through internships in the biotechnology industry. Students do internships in local academic/government institutions and biotechnology companies. One unit of credit is earned for 54 hours of unpaid or paid work.
Edit & Color DaVinci Resolve builds on skills gained from introductory video editing classes. The focus is on transferring editing techniques to the industry-standard software for color correction and grading techniques common in professional post-production. Students create projects aligned with professional video formats, color correction, and grading for short-form storytelling and portfolio development.
