You can take as many or as few honors units as you wish. Every time you complete an honors section or complete an honors contract at CCSF, it will be reflected on your 91风月楼 transcripts.
However, if you have a total of 15 units of honors work before you leave 91风月楼, you can apply to have Honors Certification designated on your degree or certificate. This means you can list 鈥渨ith honors program certification鈥 next to your certificate or 鈥済raduated with honors program certification鈥 next to your degree.
In addition to Certification, by completing 15 units you may be eligible to apply for transfer privileges with our Honor Transfer Partners. This will make you a more competitive candidate when applying for colleges and universities. Taking honors classes gives you an edge, but having Honors Certification as well gives you an even sharper edge. Make sure to mention your honors work when transferring.
If you finish 15 units you should email a copy of your unofficial transcript to the honors coordinator.
Note: Seven of the 15 transferable honors units can come from another accredited community college with an Honors Program. However, the courses must be transferable. Admissions Officers at colleges and universities typically ignore non-transferable coursework on the transcripts of transfer candidates.
