ESL for Job Search B

Development of intermediate English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills that support a successful job search for non-native English-speaking students. Emphasis is on the English required to describe job qualifications and successfully network and interview for jobs. This is the second of two courses in the ESL job search series.

Computer VESL - Intermediate

Communicative intermediate English language skills, computer vocabulary, and terminology used in the digital workplace environment. Computer applications for documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and data management with ESL language support. Additional focus on language development necessary for following procedures, problem-solving, and describing charts and graphs.

ESL for Job Search A

Development of English reading and writing skills that support a successful job search for non-native English-speaking students. Emphasis is on the language required to use online job search tools, find and analyze job descriptions, and create professional resumes and cover letters that closely fit specific jobs. This is the first of two courses in the ESL job search series.

ESL for Work - Beginning

Development of general workplace vocabulary and skills for a successful employee in the U.S. workplace, including health and safety practices, U.S. workplace cultural values and practices, and effective workplace communication at a high-beginning English language level.

ESL for Custodians

Development of high beginning ESL oral communication skills for employment in the custodial industry. English terminology for job duties and responsibilities, tools, equipment, measurement, chemicals, and safety. Job search skills are included.

Healthcare Communication II

Designed for health care professionals with high intermediate English language proficiency. Integrated language skills for job search documents and interviews, interaction patterns on health care teams, discussion of treatment options with patients and alternative health perspectives, and communication strategies among culturally diverse patients and health workers. Prepares students for 91·çÔÂÂ¥ health care programs.

Healthcare Communication I

Designed for health care professionals with high intermediate English language proficiency. Integrated language skills for career options and requirements in health care, patient-centered communication techniques, interaction patterns among health co-workers, assertive communication, and health care systems and traditions. Prepares students for 91·çÔÂÂ¥ health care programs.
