Instructor Bio
I currently live and work in Berkeley, California as a letterpress printer, graphic designer and design instructor. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Oregon where I studied Romance Languages and Fine Art, then pursued a master's degree in Industrial Design with an emphasis on Graphic Design from San Francisco State University.
Following my studies, I began working in the signage/environmental graphic design industry, both in the US and UK for clients such as the SF Airport, Oracle, Stanford University and the Covent Garden Opera and Ballet Theatre. Returning to the US after working in England, I had the fortune of meeting Peter Koch and was introduced to letterpress printing and book design. What started out as a hobby became my passion and business. Along with my practice, I teach graphic design at CCSF and at San Francisco State University. I enjoy working and teaching design; the combination keeps me in tune with the ever changing aspects of the practice and our communities.
