Instructor Bio

I hold a B.A. in art history from Wellesley College, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Asian art history from the University of Kansas. I have taught at CCSF since 1995. I have also been assistant curator of Asian art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, and curator of a private collection of modern Chinese art in San Francisco. I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania, and gradually moved west, landing in California in 1991. I love to travel, both within the US and to other countries, especially to see art of all kinds.
